11:13 PM, Our Interesting and Fun (IF) Learning Trip to the Singapore Polytechnic
Wednesday, October 1, 2008
Our trip to the Singapore Polytechnic (SP) was on 29th July 2008. We were there to attend a lecture by Dr. Jiang Fan and to explore their Solar Farm at the rooftop of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE). The lecture, although long, but we learned many things, like fossil fuels are getting lesser year by year, alternative sources of energy, how appliances convert stored energy to electrical energy and ways to use and store solar energy. Next, we moved to the rooftop to tour the Solar Farm. It consists of many huge solar panels. When some of us touched the solar panels, it felt really hot. The solar panels are able to generate electricity without polluting the environment.
In conclusion, i feel that the trip is a fruitful one. As we learned many things that are useful for our future use.
